I arrived at Bonneville around 10 p.m. and decided to stay overnight to really take in the landscape in both darkness and daylight. Under moonlight, the salt flats took on an otherworldly glow—flat, wide, and seemingly endless. This hard, white crust stretches over 30,000 acres and has become famous for land speed records thanks to its smooth surface. At night, it's hauntingly quiet and surreal—a completely different perspective of one of the most iconic landscapes in the American West.
