Portage & Nostalgia

Regular price $35.00 Sale

A view from inside a city bus looking out at the iconic Eaton’s building at Portage Avenue and Vaughan Street in downtown Winnipeg. Once the largest department store in Western Canada, Eaton’s was more than retail—it was a civic landmark and community hub. Opened in 1905 and expanded over decades, it was the site of everything from shopping trips to union rallies and parade routes. The building was demolished in 2003 to make way for the Canada Life Centre, but the memory of “going to Eaton’s” lives on in prairie hearts.
